Generator Rental in Tampa, Florida
You can rent a generator in Tampa today from Restoration Equipment Supply — portable units for a single circuit and towable units for whole-site power, delivered fueled across Hillsborough County. On low-lying Tampa Bay, surge and power loss arrive together, and drying equipment often has to make its own electricity.
Tampa is one of the most storm-surge-vulnerable metros in the country, with much of the city and the Hillsborough River corridor barely above sea level. Idalia in 2023 and the 2024 season pushed water into low-lying neighborhoods and knocked out power, and drying can't wait on the utility. A properly sized generator runs your air movers, dehumidifiers, and scrubbers as one chain — see the fleet on our Florida generator rental page or size it with our calculator.
Power the Whole Drying Chain
From a single circuit in a Hyde Park bungalow to whole-site power at a Port Tampa Bay facility, we size and fuel a generator that keeps every drying unit running through the outage.
- Runs air movers, dehumidifiers, and scrubbers as one drying package
- Portable units for small jobs; towable units for whole-site power
- Delivered fueled with fuel service available on longer deployments
- Ideal for Tampa storm, flood, and outage response when there's no site power
Built for Tampa Bay's Surge & Outages
Tampa Bay funnels storm surge, and South Tampa, Davis Islands, and the Hillsborough River lowlands sit only feet above the water — so when a hurricane like Idalia pushes the bay inland, flooding and multi-day outages hit together. Downtown offices, waterfront homes in South Tampa, and commercial buildings in Brandon and Riverview all lose power while water is still standing. A grid-independent generator lets crews start drying immediately, protecting structures and contents before the Gulf-coast heat and humidity drive mold growth.

Where can I rent a generator in Tampa?
Restoration Equipment Supply rents portable and towable generators across Hillsborough County — Tampa, Ybor City, Brandon, Riverview, and Plant City — delivered fueled and ready. Call (973) 685-4030 or request a quote.
Why do I need a generator after a Tampa storm?
Tampa Bay is highly surge-prone, and storms like Idalia flood low-lying areas while knocking out power for days. A generator lets your air movers, dehumidifiers, and scrubbers run anyway, so drying starts immediately instead of waiting on the utility — important in the Gulf-coast humidity, where mold spreads fast.
Can one generator run my whole Tampa drying package?
Usually yes, when sized correctly. Air movers are low amp draw, so your dehumidifiers are the biggest loads. Send us the equipment list and we'll spec a portable or towable generator that carries the running load plus startup surge with headroom to extend the job.
Do you deliver generators fueled and same-day in Hillsborough County?
Yes. Generators arrive fueled with fuel service on longer deployments, and we run 24/7 storm dispatch. For maximum drying capacity, our trailer-mounted desiccant dehumidifiers carry their own onboard generator — grid-independent by design.
What other equipment can I rent in Hillsborough County?
Beyond generators we rent desiccant and LGR dehumidifiers, air movers, air scrubbers, and negative-air machines. See the Hillsborough County desiccant hub or browse our full inventory.
Drying plans and equipment counts follow the IICRC S500 Standard for Professional Water Damage Restoration. Restoration Equipment Supply is an IICRC Certified Firm.
